Meditation

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.     Hebrews 10:24-25

The Rise Against Hunger packing event was a tremendous experience. Thank you to all who were able to help. We created 15,000 meals all while singing, dancing, and chatting. It was fun because we were doing the work of God together!

God created us to be in community. We are our best selves  when interacting and encouraging each other. The Covid isolation months had a mental health impact because we were so unconnected.

Nationwide (probably world-wide) attendance at church has not fully rebounded. Some are still concerned for health reasons. Some have used it as an excuse. Some people lost the routine and have just not been able to get themselves back to it. Some former regulars are coming, but only erratically. Some people realized their need during the pandemic but now have forgotten since they are ‘moving on.’ The Dollar Store is full but church is not.

We need to be connected. We need to be the church united. Reach out and reconnect – don’t wait for someone else to contact you. Visit someone who is homebound. Call someone you haven’t seen in worship recently and tell them they are missed. Look at your attendance and be honest if your participation has been shaky. Let us all spur one another on toward God’s love.

Hope to see you Sunday.
