Ash Wednesday meditation

I made myself holy on their behalf so that they also would be made holy in the truth.                                                                                                                                                                   John 17:19 (CEB)

Lent is a season of 40 days (not including Sundays) that begins today, Ash Wednesday, and ends on the Saturday before Easter. It is a time of penance and preparation to welcome our risen Lord. We recall the trials Jesus faced for our sake and strive to become more like him. 

On Ash Wednesday we remember
 ·      All those around the world who are mourning and suffering 
·       That we all have sinned, we all need repentance
·       That we will all someday die 
·       In the midst of this, we are still called, named, claimed, and beloved Children of God.
