Midweek meditation
Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds that you plant.
~ Robert Louis Stevenson
I understand some of the growing voices to open restaurants and businesses, to relax restrictions, to get back to normal. When a problem arises, we want to “do something” to fix it. Far harder is to not do something. We want to see progress.
This is a struggle for Christians also, the concept that much of what we do is planting seeds and then not knowing how or where they grow. We look at the ground and want to see a sprout, forgetting the work of God is growing roots deep in the earth that will support and sustain. Our role is planting the seed and trusting in God’s process and God’s timing.
How do you share the Good News? In a time of physical distancing, we can be more connected than any time in history. The ground is fertile, plant a seed: Send a link to any of the children’s messages, the music, our Rouzerville UMC YouTube channel or the rumchurch.online.churchwhere they can join in fellowship. Call anyone living alone, reach out and offer grace for a strained relationship, forward a message of hope. Live into the love and hospitality of our faith.
So let us not grow weary in doing what is right, for we will reap at harvest time, if we do not give up. (Galatians 6:9)
May God’s assurance fill your life and enable you to continue to do the work of our Savior. Pastor Kim
We are collecting names for our prayer chain of those who are working for our benefit; first responders and others at risk. If you have a name to add or if you are willing to add the list to your prayers, please let me know.
